"A Place to Call Home"

Welcome to First United Methodist Church of Commerce, a place where God is at work in wonderful ways. For 125 years, FUMC-Commerce has been a church family, nurturing one another as we each travel on our personal faith journey. It is a church which invites you into a relationship with God through Jesus Christ and where God's love is the center of our worship, fellowship and study. We treasure the history and traditions established by our predecessors and, at the same time, our family of faith is open to new ideas and new ways of expressing our faith and carrying out our mission:

• To lead persons to commit their lives to God through Jesus Christ
• To witness our own salvation and devotion through our lives
• To show love for those we contact daily, and commit ourselves to make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Located on Highway 50 directly across from the student center on the Texas A&M University campus, we take pleasure in serving all ages with a variety of programs.

We are studious and serious about our commitment to personal growth and to a greater understanding of God's will for our individual lives and the life of our church family. We are compassionate and nurturing within our family of faith and outside the world at large. We're fun-loving and enjoy church-wide gatherings, as well as small group get-togethers. We are diverse in our talents, strengths and interests, but united by God's unconditional love as revealed by Jesus Christ and dedicated in reflecting that love to a world that has not known it.

We hope you'll seek out and participate in some of the many opportunities to grow in your faith and to serve God and this community. There is a place for you to be part of the amazing things God is doing in this community of faith.
